College of Fisheries Engineering, TamilNadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University celebrated the 3 rd Hostel Day on 10.02.2022 at University Auditorium to mark another splendiferous and successful year. The Honourable Vice-Chancellor Dr. G. Sugumar and Finance Officer Mr. V. S. Anbarasu were invited to preside over the function. Er. D. Babiyola, Deputy Warden (Girls Hostel) welcomed the gathering for the Hostel day function. The programme started with an invocation and lighting the lamp. Dr.N.Manimehalai, Dean i/c, presented memento to honour our Chief Guest Dr.G.Sugumar, Vice-Chancellor, TNJFU as an expression of gratitude. The Annual Hostel Report for the academic year 2021- 22 was read by Mr.B.Sanjay, Mess Secretary (Boys). Dr.N.Manimehalai has given the presidential address. In her speech, she addressed about her dream on CoFE about the development of CoFE’s infrastructure and Research work. In his Presidential address, our Vice-Chancellor elaborated about students’ hostel life. He also addressed that the young generation should effectively use the technological development in an effective way for their wellbeing. As a token of gratitude, gifts were presented to previous Deputy Wardens Dr. M. Ramar and Er. C. Mercy Amrita. The Cake cutting Ceremony in presence of chief guest and dignitaries on the dias was also organized. The Hostel students showcased their talents by giving their beautiful performance On-stage by Solo songs, Group dance, Mime etc.. The various off- stage events were also conducted at the Boys and Girls Hostel such as Treasure Hunt, Carrom, Chess, Mehandi, Face painting etc..In conclusion, the vote of thanks was given by Dr. D. Kesavan, Deputy Warden (Boys hostel). The function ended up with the delightful dinner with special menu arranged by the CoFE Hostel to the Chief Guest, Hostel Inmates, Faculty and Non-Teaching Staffs.
