National Science Day is celebrated all over India with great enthusiasm on 28th of February every year in order to commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect in India by the Indian physicist, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on the same day in the year 1928. On this special occasion, CoFE celebrated the day grandly under the theme of “Science and Technology for Sustainable Future”. Dr. S. Balasubramanian, Dean, CoFE inaugurated the event. Competitions such as essay writing, elocution, drawing, quiz, poster presentation, and project/model exhibition were conducted. Students exhibited working models such as aquaponics, generation of electricity from sunlight and piezoelectric effect, accident prevention system in motor vehicles and cars, device showing direction of air, among many others. More than 70 students from various colleges and schools around Nagapattinam participated in this event. The event was organized by Dr. D. Kesavan, Dr. M. Ramar, Dr. M. Kamalakannan, and Mr. R. Palani. The Dean has distributed the certificates to the winners of the competitions.
