A free medical and blood donation camp was organized by College of Fisheries Engineering in connection with World Cancer Awareness Day and in association with Department of Public Health ,Government Hospital and Reliance Foundation at Community hall, Thethi, Nagapattinam on 7th November 2019, 10.00 AM. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. V. Shanmugasundaram, MBBS.,DPH., Deputy Director of Health Services, Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Nagapattinam. Dr. M. Rajakumar, Dean i/c and President of Students' Association and Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Vice president of Students' Association, College of Fisheries Engineering were present. A team of 6 doctors of Government hospital came for free medical check-up and collecting the donated blood. The activity of blood donation was started by students of College of Fisheries Engineering. There after other donors from village also joined the event. There was an overwhelming response from students and donors. A total of 30 units collected in the camp. Doctors conducted the health check up of 200 patients of thethi village on the occasion. Measurement of pules, weight, blood sugar test, blood pressure test, ECG and distributed free medicine were conducted. The camp ended by 2.00 PM with great success. A certificate of appreciation, for blood donation was given to each donor who participated in the camp. The camp was co-ordinated by Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Vice president, Er. R. Regupathi, Blood donation club Co-ordinator, Mr. R. M. Devasennan, General Secretary and Miss. R. Vani, Blood donation Club Secretary, Students' Association, College of Fisheries Engineering.
