World Fisheries day was celebrated at the College of Energy and Environmental Engineering and College of Fisheries Engineering jointly on 21st November 2019 at Fisheries Engineering campus, Nagapattinam. The celebrations were started with a welcome note. In their special address Dr. M. Rajakumar, Dean i/c, College of Fisheries Engineering elaborated the necessity of engineering intervention that help the fisheries activities and Dr. N. Manimehalai, Associate Professor & Officer i/c, College of Energy and Environmental Engineering emphasized the development of sustainable technologies using the acquired engineering knowledge to find solutions to many challenges faced by the fisheries sector with environmental concerns.
On the eve of world fisheries day, the Higher Secondary school students from Nagapattinam districts were invited to visit infrastructure and laboratory facilities available at College of Energy and Environmental Engineering and College of Fisheries Engineering. They were given counseling on the scope of B.Tech (EEE) and B.Tech (FE) program as their higher study option.
To mark this day, various literary competitions viz. essay writing, speech, drawing and poster presentation for students on the theme “Doubling the Fish Farmer’s Income through Engineering Interventions” were conducted. School students were also participated and won the prizes. The winners were issued with a certificate.

நவம்பர் 21, 2019 அன்று ஆற்றல் மற்றும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி மற்றும் மீன்வள பொறியியல் கல்லூரி இணைந்து உலக மீன்வள தினம் கல்லூரி வளாகத்தில் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. இந்நிகழ்வில் மீன்வள பொறியியல் கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் (பொறுப்பு) டாக்டர். எம். ராஜகுமார் தனது தலைமை உரையில், மீன்வளத்துறையில் பொறியியல் தொழில்நுட்பத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை விரிவாகக் கூறினார் பின்னர் சிறப்புரை ஆற்றிய ஆற்றல் மற்றும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பொறியியல் கல்லூரியின் இணை பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் முதல்வர் (பொறுப்பு) டாக்டர். என். மணிமேகலை, சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதிப்புகளை கவனத்தில் கொண்டு மீன்வளத்துறைக்கு தேவையான தொழில்நுட்பங்களை மாணவர்கள் கண்டுபிடிக்க வேண்டும் என்று அறிவுரை வழங்கினர்.
உலக மீன்வள தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு, நாகப்பட்டினம் மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் ஆற்றல் மற்றும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி மற்றும் மீன்வள பொறியியல் கல்லூரியின் உள்கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் ஆய்வக வசதிகளைப் பார்வையிட்டனர். பின்னர் அவர்களுக்கு இளநிலை (ஆற்றல் மற்றும் சுற்றுச்சூழல் பொறியியல்) மற்றும் இளநிலை (மீன்வள பொறியியல்) பாடத்திட்டத்தின் நோக்கம் குறித்து ஆலோசனை வழங்கப்பட்டது.
மேலும் இந்நிகழ்வின் போது "பொறியியல் தலையீடுகள் மூலம் மீன் விவசாயியின் வருமானத்தை இரட்டிப்பாக்குதல்" என்ற கருப்பொருளில் மாணவர்களுக்கு கட்டுரை போட்டி, பேச்சு போட்டி, வரைதல் போட்டி மற்றும் சுவரொட்டி விளக்க காட்சி போன்ற பல்வேறு இலக்கியப் போட்டிகள் நடத்தப்பட்டன. பள்ளி மாணவர்களும் இப்போட்டிகளில் பங்கேற்று பரிசுகளை வென்றனர். வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவ மாணவிகளுக்கு சான்றிதழ் வழங்கி சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது.
