Two day workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development in Fish Processing” was conducted at Fish Processing Incubation Facility (Metro), College of Fisheries Engineering, TNJFU, Nagapattinam during 27 th and 28 th February 2020. The program was inaugurated by Dr. R. Rajendran, Dean, College of Fisheries Engineering, TNJFU, Nagapattinam in which he spoke about the need of entrepreneurial skills among students. Dr. N. Manimehalai, Associate Professor & Head delivered lecture on the importance of fish consumption in a healthy diet. Sessions on business opportunities available in the fish processing sector, marketing strategies for value added fishery products, steps for starting business enterprise, soft skills required for an entrepreneur and demonstration on production of bakery products (fish incorporated cake, fish incorporated cookies) and production of extruded products (fish corn puff and fish paste) were explained by Dr. P. Karthickumar, Assistant professor and the workshop coordinator. Thirty eight SC/ST students from ADM College and Issac Arts and Science College, Nagapattinam were attended and benefitted. The workshop was conducted under the sponsorship of ICAR DG-SC-SP 2019-20. Students were also exposed to the various facilities available in Metro for incubation and mass production.
