College of Fisheries Engineering, Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Nagapattinam observed National Integration Day on 19 th November 2021. National Integration Day in India is celebrated every year on 19 November, as it is also one of the most important social events. To make awareness among the Indian national about national integration, a full week program has also been implemented by the Government of India to celebrate November 19 th to 25 th as National Integration Week. The purpose behind celebrating this day is to preserve in the minds of the people, the beauty of unity in diversity in the social and cultural rich country.
Dr. Mohd Tanweer, Dean i/c of the College preside the event. National Integration Day is observed to honor on the birth anniversary of India’s first woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ie. Falling on 19 th November. This message of preserving unity and integrity of Indian citizens, regardless of their cast, colour, language, religion and societal status. In the presence of Dean i/c, teaching, non-teaching and students took the National Integration Day Pledge. More than 70 persons including faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff were participated in this event. The event was co-ordinate by Dr. M. Ramar, Assistant Professor & NSS Co-ordinator and Er. P. Muthukrishnan, Assistant Professor (C), CoFE.
