National Voters Day

Voting is one of the essential aspects of democracy, and the national voters day in India it’s celebrated as a day of encouragement for the youth of the country. In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, the Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 th every year as "National Voters' Day". National voters Day pledge was observed at College of Fisheries Engineering, Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam on 25 th January 2022. This day was celebrated to spread awareness regarding effective participation in the electoral process among voters. Dr. N.Manimehalai, Dean (i/c), College of Fisheries Engineering preside the event at college premises along with the Teaching, non teaching staff, UG and PG students of College of Fisheries Engineering with social distancing. National Voters Day 2022 pledge, theme - To promote the electoral process among newly eligible young voters, the theme for National Voters Day this year is ‘Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy’. “The vote is precious. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it”. The event was co-ordinated by Dr.M.Ramar and Er.S.Monikandon, NSS and RRC Co-ordinator and Mr.S.K.Chrispin Binesh, NSS and RRC student’s secretary.
