The College of Fisheries Engineering, Tamil Nadu Dr.J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam conducted 73 rd Republic Day celebration on the theme of “75 th Indian Independence Anniversary and Independent India @ 75 - Self-reliance with Integrity” at CoFE on 26.01.2022 at CoFE campus. Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 th January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India. The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 th November 1949, and came into effect on 26 th January 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the count. A warm welcome address was given by Ms.K.Poojasri II-B.Tech (Fisheries Engineering).
The most important moment of that day is hoisting our National Flag. Our National Flag was hoisted by Dr.N.Manimehalai, Dean i/c and we all paid our honor by saluting the National flag. The presidential address was delivered by Dr.N.Manimehalai, Dean i/c of CoFE. In her speech she listed the history of Indian independence and highlighted how Constitution was created and came to effect in India. Dr. N. Manimehalai, Dean i/c presented the awards to the Best worker Non-teaching staff and Best worker contractual staff. Dr.N.Manimehalai, Dean i/c of CoFE distributed the sweets and make that event sweeter. On this occasion various competitions such as drawing, essay writing, poem writing, elocution and online quiz were conducted and the certificates were distributed to the winners. Finally, Ms. A. Jeyarani Infant Sneha II-B.Tech (Energy and Environmental Engineering) proposed the vote of thanks. This event was organized by NSS and RRC Coordinators Er.S.Monikandon, Assistant Professor, Dr.M.Ramar, Assistant Professor, CoFE and NSS and RRC Student Secretary S.K.Chrispin Binesh.
