The Directorate of Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries (DIVF), Ramanathapuram, a constituent unit of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, organized a one-week training program on “Boat Driver License Certificate Course” was held on 09.10.2025. The program was funded by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), Chennai under the Naan Mudhalvan Vetri Nichayam scheme. Mr.M.Kalaiarasan, Assistant Professor delivered the welcome speech and lecture.

A total of 26 fishermen from Ramanathapuram district participated in the training. The Deputy Director of Fisheries, Trichy, Mrs. M.V.Prabhavathi was the special guest on the program. In her keynote address, she highlighted the benefits of training in the boat driver license for fishermen. She explained in detail the schemes brought by the state governments for the development of fishermen and also emphasized that the fishermen who got this opportunity would make good use of the seven-day training. The Deputy Director of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Ramanathapuram, Mr.Gobi, served as the chief guest. In his chief guest address, he emphasized the need for issuing licenses for boat drivers who are operating Mechanized fishing vessels along the coast of Ramanathapuram district. Upon successful completion on 16.10.2025, all 26 trainees were awarded licenses by the Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Ramanathapuram. The training covered a wide range of essential topics including the handling of navigational equipment such as GPS, Fish Finder, AIS, VHF, MF, as well as chart work, navigational signals, rules of the road, and life-saving appliances. Participants also received hands-on training in marine engine and gearbox maintenance, lathe and welding operations, navigational simulators, and onboard safety procedures. Practical demonstrations were conducted by scheme investigators and invited subject matter specialists on topics such as marine meteorology, first aid at sea (by a medical professional from Uchipuli), and firefighting techniques (by an officer from the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services, Ramanathapuram). The program was well-coordinated with active involvement from the university's staff and students, who played a key role in organizing the training sessions and concluding function.

நான் முதல்வன் வெற்றி நிச்சயம் திட்டத்தில் கீழ் தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமான இராமநாதபுரத்தில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் மீன்வளத் தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சி இயக்குனரகம் நடத்தும் “படகு ஓட்டுநர் உரிமச் சான்றிதழ் பயிற்சி” என்ற ஒரு வாரகால உள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியின் துவக்க விழாவானது 09.10.2025 முதல் 16.10.2025 வரை நடைபெற்றது. பயிற்சியின் ஒருங்கினைப்பாளர் திரு. மு. கலையரசன், உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் வரவேற்புரை மற்றும் பயிற்சி விளக்க உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். இப்பயிற்சியில் இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்த 26 மீனவர்கள் பயிற்சியில் கலந்து கொண்டார்கள். திருமதி. மா. வெ. பிரபாவதி, அவர்கள் நிகழ்ச்சியின் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டார். அவர் தமது சிறப்புரையில் மீனவர்களுக்கு கடர்சார் எஞ்சின் பராமரித்தல் மற்றும் பழுது நீக்குதல் பயிற்சியின் மூலம் ஏற்படும் நன்மைகளை பற்றி எடுத்துரைத்தார். மேலும், மீனவர்களின் மேம்பாட்டிற்கு மாநில அரசுகள் கொண்டு வந்த திட்டங்களை விரிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். திரு.கோபி, துணை இயக்குநர், மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நலத்துறை, இராமநாதபுரம் அவர்கள் நிகழ்ச்சியின் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டார். அவர் தமது சிறப்புரையில் மீனவர்கள் படகு ஓட்டுநர் உரிமம் பெற வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை வலியுறுத்தினார். கடலில் இருக்கும்போது படகு என்ஜினில் பழுது ஏற்பட்டால் மீனவர்களே பழுது நீக்குவதற்கு இப்பயிற்சி மிகவும் உதவியாக இருக்கும் எனவும் கூறினார். பங்கு பெற்ற 26 மீனவர்களுக்கு படகு ஓட்டுநர் உரிமமானது மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நலத்துறையால் வழங்கப்பட்டது. மேலும், இந்த ஒரு வாரகால உள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியின் போது கடல்சார் மின்னனுச் சாதனங்களைக் கையாளுதல், உலகளாவிய இருப்பிடம் காட்டி (ஜி.பி.எஸ்) மற்றும் மீன் கண்டுபிடிப்பான்கள் செயல்முறை விளக்கம், மாலுமிக்கலை வரைபடங்கள், மாலுமிக்கலை ஒலிச் சமிக்கைகள் மற்றும் கடற்பயண விதிகள், ஆழ்கடல் மாலுமிக்கலை செயல்முறை விளக்கம், கடைசல் பனிப்பட்டறை இயந்திர செயல்முறை விளக்கம், கடலில் முதலுதவி மற்றும் கடலில் மீனவர் பாதுகாப்பு, ஆழ்கடல் வானிலை, தீயணைப்பு முறைகள் மற்றும் செயல்விளக்கம், கடல் எஞ்சின் பராமரிப்பு செயல்முறை விளக்கம், பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட நீர்வாழ் உயிரினங்கள் ஆகிய தலைப்புகளில் பயிற்சிகள் மீனவர்களுக்கு பயன்தரும் வகையில் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
