As per the telephonic communication from the District Coordinator of EDII, Ramanathapuram, it has been noted that a total of 9,235 ideas were submitted by students from various colleges across disciplines such as Engineering, Agriculture, Fisheries, Arts, Science, and Polytechnic under the TNEDII initiative. Out of these, 180 innovative ideas were shortlisted by the TN EDII, Chennai. Among them, four innovative ideas related to fishing technology, submitted by B.Voc. (IFT) students, were selected for Levels 1 and 2. These include:
1. Cable Glide Way
2. Solar Battery-Operated Boat
Of these two, the "Cable Glide Way" idea secured the 10th position in the first-prize category of the state-level HACKATHON 2023 competition, earning a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/- along with 20 student groups across the state. The award distribution ceremony was held at Anna University, Chennai, on 11th November 2024. The Honorable Minister, Mr. T.M. Anbarasu, Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, graced the event as the chief guest and presented a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/- in the form of a cheque to the student group. Additionally, the "Solar Battery-Operated Boat" was selected in the 100th position category and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 4,950/-.

2. சூரிய மின்கலத்தால் இயக்கப்படும் மீன்பிடிப் படகு
மாணவர் புதுமைக்காக நடத்தப்பட்ட மாநில அளவிலான போட்டியில், 20 மாணவர் குழுக்களை உள்ளடக்கிய ரூ.1,00,000/- ரொக்கப் பரிசுடன், முதல் பரிசுப் பிரிவில் 10வது இடத்தில் “தானியங்கி தொங்குக் கயிறுப் பெட்டி” ஆராய்ச்சி தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது. விருது வழங்கும் விழா சென்னை அண்ணாப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நவம்பர் 11, 2024 அன்று நடைபெற்றது. மாண்புமிகு அமைச்சர், குறு, சிறு மற்றும் நடுத்தர நிறுவனங்கள் துறை அமைச்சர் மாண்புமிகு திரு. டி.எம். அன்பரசு, இந்த நிகழ்வில் தலைமை விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டு, மாணவர் குழுவிற்கு காசோலையாக ரூ. 1,00,000/- ரொக்க விருதை வழங்கினார். மேலும், மாணவர் புதுமைக்காக நடத்தப்பட்ட மாநில அளவிலான போட்டியில், ஹேக்கத்தான் 2023 இல், 100 எண் பிரிவின் கீழ் ஒரு ‘சூரிய மின்கலத்தால் இயக்கப்படும் மீன்பிடிப்படகு’ 4,950/- ரொக்கப் பரிசுடன் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
