Dr. M.G.R FC & RI, Ponneri celebrated 74th Independence Day

Dr. M.G.R Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri, a constituent college of Tamil Nadu Dr. J Jayalalithaa Fisheries University celebrated the 74th Independence Day. During the celebration, Dean of the institute, Dr. B. Ahilan was escorted with guard of honour by the security personnel of the institute. The Dean unfurled the National Flag which was honoured by all the staff of the institute.

           On the occasion, Miss. Vasuki, Office Assistant and Mrs. Soundharya, Junior Assistant gave ex-tempore on “Independent India in my view” and “Meaning of True Freedom” respectively. In the Independence Day address, the Dean addressed on the scope of fisheries development through the newly launched ‘PMMSY’ scheme on par with Space and Information Technology Sectors of the Country. Dr. C. Lloyd Chrispin, Asst. Professor, DFEES coordinated the Independence Day celebrations. All the staff of the Institute participated in the programme with high national spirit.
