Harnessing PMMSY scheme for aquapreneurship development in Tamil Nadu

The Department of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics (DFEES), Dr. MGR FC & RI, Ponneri organized a webinar entitled “Harnessing 'PMMSY' scheme for aquapreneurship development in Tamil Nadu" on 10.09.2020. Dr. R. Jeyaraman, Professor and Head, DFEES welcomed the gathering. Dr. B. Ahilan, Dean of the institute inaugurated the webinar. Dr. G. Sugumar, Vice Chancellor, TNJFU in his felicitation address appreciated the organizing team for conducting such ‘need of the hour’ webinar and
requested the participants to make maximum use of the information given by the speakers of the webinar. The technical session had three lectures. Dr. M. Krishnan, Adviser, State Level Project Advisory Committee for Marine Resources, Andhra Pradesh who talked about
‘Outlays to Output: Challenges in PMMSY Implementation’. Mr. L.A.G. Julius Edward, Deputy Director, Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Tamil Nadu who threw insight on ‘PMMSY for fisheries sector development’. Dr. P. S. Ananthan, Senior Scientist, ICAR-
Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai briefed about ‘PMMSY: Policy to Development Support in Action’. Out of 1007 registered participants, around 150 participants attended the webinar through ‘Google Meet’ and the rest of them attended through live
streaming of the webinar in ‘Naveena Uzhavan’ YouTube Channel from various parts of the Country. Dr. Lloyd Chrispin, Assistant Professor, DFEES coordinated the webinar.
