Virtual Training on Freshwater Fish Culture

The Department of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics (DFEES), Dr. MGR
FC & RI, Ponneri organized a two day virtual training on “Freshwater Fish Culture" from
14th to 15th, October 2020. The training was inaugurated by Dr. B. Ahilan, Dean of the
Institute and the first technical lecture was given by the Dean. There were a total of 12
technical lectures in the training, including the Dean's technical lecture, delivered by faculty
from all the seven departments of the Institute. The technical lectures were sequenced in such
a way that it would cover ‘farm to fork’ aspects of freshwater fish culture. There were 22
participants from different parts of Tamil Nadu attended the virtual training. The training had
an exclusive clearing session for doubts, in which the trainees clarified their doubts with the
experts who offered the training technical lectures. The training concluded with a vote of
thanks by Dr. Lloyd Chrispin C, Assistant Professor, DFEES who coordinated the training
programme.
