Awareness programme on Government schemes available for Ornamental Fish Farmers

To commemorate the 75 th Independence Day, Department of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics [DFEES] of Dr. M.G.R Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri conducted an one day awareness programme on ‘Government schemes available for Ornamental Fish Farmers’ at Devampattu village, Tiruvallur District on 11.08.2022. The theme of the programme also insisted on the 14 th Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations – ‘Life Below Water’. The awareness programme had three technical lectures to benefit thirty women ornamental fish farmers of Devampattu Village. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. S. Agnes Daney Angela, Asst. Professor and Head, DFEES with the first technical lecture about initiatives of TNJFU and Tamil Nadu Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department to promote ornamental fish culture in the State. The second technical lecture was delivered by Assistant Professors of DFEES, Dr. C. Lloyd Chrispin and Dr. L. Surulivel on the topics ‘Scope to avail funding support for ornamental fish culture through PMMSY’ and ‘Role of ornamental fish culture in ensuring rural food security and alternative livelihood’ respectively. After the technical lectures, the participants clarified their doubts with the experts. The experts then enriched the participants with the importance of grand celebration of the 75 th Independence Day and distributed 50 national flags to hoist it in their houses from 13.08.22 to 15.08.22. The programme ended with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. C. Lloyd Chrispin, Assistant Professor, DFEES, Dr. M.G.R FCRI, Ponneri who coordinated the programme.

வண்ணமீன் வளா்ப்போருக்கான அரசு மானியங்கள் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி

நாட்டின் 75-வது சுதந்திர தினத்தை கொண்டாடும் வகையில், பொன்னேரி மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் மீன்வள விரிவாக்கம், பொருளியல் மற்றும் புள்ளியியல் துறையால் வண்ணமீன் வளர்ப்போருக்கான அரசு மானியங்கள் குறித்த ஒரு நாள் விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி, திருவள்ளுர் மாவட்டம் தேவம்பட்டு கிராமத்தில் 11.08.2022 அன்று நடத்தப்பட்டது. மேலும், இந்நிகழ்வானது ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் 14- வது வளங்குன்றா வளர்ச்சிக் குறிக்கோளான ”தண்ணீருக்கு கீழே வாழ்க்கை” என்பதை மையமாக வைத்து நடத்தப்பட்டது. இவ்விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சியில் மூன்று தொழில்நுட்ப உரைகள் 30 பெண் வண்ணமீன் பண்ணையாளர்களின் பயனுக்காக வழங்கப்பட்டது. இந்நிகழ்வை துவக்கி வைத்த மீன்வள விரிவாக்கம், பொருளியல் மற்றும் புள்ளியியல் துறையின் தலைவர் திருமதி. ச. ஆக்னஸ் டேனி ஏஞ்சலா அவர்கள், தமிழக அரசின் மீன்வள பல்கலைக்கழகம் மற்றும் துறையால் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வரும் வண்ணமீன் வளர்ப்பு மேம்பாட்டு பணிகளை குறித்து எடுத்துரைத்தார். இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து, துறையின் உதவி பேராசிரியர்களான முனைவர். கி. லாய்ட் கிறிஸ்பின் மற்றும் முனைவர். இல. சுருளிவேல் ஆகியோர், ‘பிரதம மந்திரி மீன்வள மேம்பாட்டு திட்டத்தில் வண்ணமீன் வளர்ப்பிற்கு உள்ள நிதியுதவி’ மற்றும் ‘கிராமப்புற உணவு பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் மாற்று வாழ்வாதாரத்தில் வண்ணமீன் வளர்ப்பின் பங்கு’ ஆகிய தலைப்புகளில் முறையே தொழில்நுட்ப உரைகளை நிகழ்த்தினர். தொழில்நுட்ப உரைகளின் இறுதியில், நிகழ்வின் பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் தங்கள் சந்தேகங்களைத் தொழில்நுட்ப வல்லுநர்களிடம் கேட்டறிந்து தெளிவுப்பெற்றனர். இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து 75-வது சுதந்திர தினத்தை பிரம்மாண்டமாக கொண்டாட வேண்டியதின் அவசியத்தை குறித்து பங்கேற்பாளர்களிடம் எடுத்துரைக்கப்பட்டு 50 தேசிய கொடிகள் வழங்கப்பட்டது. இக்கொடிகளை தேவம்பட்டு கிராம மக்கள் தங்கள் இல்லங்களில் மூன்று நாட்கள் (13.08.22 முதல் 15.08.22 வரை) ஏற்றி சிறப்பிக்குமாறு வேண்டுகோள் விடுக்கப்பட்டது. இறுதியாக, இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் ஏற்பாட்டாளரான முனைவர். கி. லாய்ட் கிறிஸ்பின் அவர்களின் நன்றிரையுடன் இவ்விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி இனிதே நிறைவுற்றது.
