World Food Day celebration

The Department of Fish Processing Technology and Students association, Dr. M.G.R. Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri organized the “World food day” on 17.10.2022. The day was celebrated with the theme of “Leave no one behind”. Dr. Nimish Mol Stephen, Assistant Professor and Head, welcomed the gathering and spoke on the theme. The Chief Guest Mr. K. Sundararaman, Food Safety Officer, FSSAI, Tiruvallur District was presided over the function and elaborated on the WHO theme. He focused on the importance of fortification of food and nutritious food and emphasized on the need of quality check with reference to food safety. Dr. R. Jeya Shakila, Dean of Dr. MGR FC&RI, Ponneri delivered the keynote address on World Food Day. The Presidential address was delivered by Dr. Cheryl Antony, Professor and Vice President of the students Association. Competitions on cooking, speech, Quiz and drama were conducted on the theme “What’s yours is mine: Eating together matters”. The Students actively participated in the competitions. The students participated in On Spot Cooking competition and brought out healthy recipes using fish as raw material with natural spices. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners by the Dean. The Student’s Association and The Department of Fish Processing Technology Department Dr. MGR FC & RI, Ponneri coordinated the event.

உலக உணவு தினம் 2022

பொன்னேரி டாக்டர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தில் 17.10.2022 அன்று உலக உணவு தினத்தின் மையக்கருத்தாக “அனைவருக்கும் சத்தான உணவு” என்ற தலைப்பில் உலக உணவு தினம் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. இவ்விழாவினை முனைவர். நிமிஷ் மோள் ஸ்டீபன், மீன்பதன தொழிற்நுட்பத் துறையின் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் வரவேற்பு உரையினை வழங்கி தொடங்கி வைத்தார். திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்ட உணவுப் பாதுக்காப்பு துறை அதிகாரி திரு. சுந்தரராமன் அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக வருகை தந்து ஊட்டச்சத்து உணவு மற்றும் உணவு பாதுக்காப்பு குறித்து உரையாற்றினார். கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் இரா. ஜெய ஷகிலா அவர்கள் சிறப்பு உரையாற்றினார். அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து மாணவர் பேரவை துணைத் தலைவர் முனைவர். செரில் ஆண்டனி, பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் மீன்வளர்ப்பு துறை அவர்கள் தலைமை உரையை வழங்கினார். உலக உணவு தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு “உணவை வீணாக்குவதை நிறுத்துங்கள்” என்ற தலைப்பில் நாடக போட்டியும், “உனக்குரியது எனக்கும் உரியதே எனவே ஒன்றினைந்து உண்பது அவசியம்” என்ற தலைப்பில் பேச்சு போட்டியும், வினாடி வினா போட்டி மற்றும் சமையல் போட்டிகளும் நடத்தப்பட்டன. மாணவர்கள் அனைவரும் உற்சாகமாக அனைத்து போட்டிகளிலும் கலந்துக் கொண்டார். இந்நிகழ்ச்சியினை டாக்டர். எம்.ஜி.ஆர் மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் மாணவர் பேரவை மற்றும் மீன்பதன தொழிற்நுட்பத் துறையும் இணைந்து ஒருங்கிணைத்தனர்.
