One day Fishermen Awareness Programme on Responsible Fishing” conducted in connection with “World Fisheries Day 2019”

The inaugural function of the One day Fishermen Awareness Programme on “Responsible Fishing” was conducted in connection with “World Fisheries Day 2019” celebration by the Fisheries College and Research Institute at its Centre for Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries (CIVF) situated at Fishing harbour, Thoothukudi on 21st November 2019. A total of 50 fishermen from various parts of Thoothukudi district attended the function. The Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Felix, TNJFU, Nagapattinam participated as the Chief Guest. In his chief guest address, he stressed the importance of various training programs being offered by the Deep Sea Fishing Technology Centres developed by the university besides elaborating the importance of the four years degree course of Fisheries Nautical Technology started by the Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University.   Further, the Vice – Chancellor released 3 VCDs and on fishing technology and 7 Pamphlets related to Deep sea Fishing Techniques. He also distributed the prizes to the B.F.Sc students who won the First, Second and Third prizes in the drawing competition conducted in connection with the “World Fisheries Day”. During the inaugural function Dr. N. Neethiselvan, Professor and Head, CIVF, Thoothukudi welcomed the gathering. 

 Dr. P. Velayutham, Dean i/c., Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi, in his presidential address described the importance of fish as health food and listed out various training programs being organized by the Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi for the welfare of the fisherfolk.   Further, he stressed the need for skill development among Mechanized fishing boat operators to cope up with emerging natural challenges like cyclone. 

Mrs. N. Chandra, Joint Director of Fisheries, Thoothukudi, in her felicitation address mentioned the need for many awareness the fisherman and appreciated the timely action of arranging awareness program an responsible fishing by Fisheries College and Research Institute programs for upgrading the various fishing techniques that will help the fishermen society and also conserve the fisheries resource.  Captain S. Viswanathan, Dean, College of Fisheries Nautical Technology, in his felicitation address explained the relevance of the Nautical Science Technology in the present context safe and responsible fishing activities. He stated that under B.Tech. (Nautical Technology), students are taught about maritime discipline. Dr. R. Santhakumar, Professor, Dept. of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics, FC&RI, Thoothukudi delivered vote of thanks. Mr. T. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor, DFT&FE, FC&RI, Thoothukudi coordinated the entire inaugural function.

உலக மீன்வளத் தினத்தையொட்டி மீனவர்களுக்கான விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி - பொறுப்பார்ந்த மீன்பிடிப்பு முறை.

தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக் கல்ல}ரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் நடத்தும் “உலக மீன்வளத் தினத்தையொட்டி மீனவர்களுக்கான விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி - பொறுப்பார்ந்த மீன்பிடிப்பு முறை” ஒரு நாள் விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சியின் துவக்க விழாவானது 21.11.2019 அன்று மீன்வளத்  தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் கடல் சார் பயிற்சி மையம் அமைந்துள்ள கடலோர வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. நிகழ்ச்சியில் மரியாதைக்குரிய துணைவேந்தர் தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப்பல்கலைக்கழகம் நாகப்பட்டினம் அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக கலந்துக்கொண்டார். அவர் தமது சிறப்புரையில் தூத்துக்குடி மற்றும் தேங்காய்பட்டினத்தில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுவரும் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப் பயிற்சி மையங்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் தூத்துக்குடியில் புதியதாக துவங்கப்பட்டுள்ள  நான்கு ஆண்டுகால இளநிலை மீன்வள மலுமிக்கலை தொழில்நுட்பவியியல் பட்டப்படிப்பின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் எடுத்துரைத்தார். மேலும் அவர் மீன்பிடிப்பு தொழில்நுட்பத்தைப் பற்றிய ஒளிநாடா அடங்கிய மூன்று குறுந்தகடும் மற்றும் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பு பற்றிய ஏழு துண்டுப்பிரசுரங்களையும் வெளியிட்டதோடு உலக மீன்வளத்தினத்தையொட்டி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரியில் நடத்தப்பட்ட ஓவியப்போட்டியில் வெற்றிப்பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு பரிசளித்தார். தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த 50 மீனவர்கள் நிகழ்;ச்சியில் பங்கு கொண்டார்கள். கல்லூரியின் மீன்வளத்  தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் கடல் சார் பயிற்சி மைய்யத்தின் பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் முனைவர் நீ. நீதிச்செல்வன் அவர்கள் மீன்வளத் தொழில்காப்பகம் மற்றும் கடல்சார் பயிற்சி மையத்தின் செயல்பாடுகளை விளக்கியதோடு வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார்;. மீன்வளக் கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர்(பொறுப்பு) முனைவர் ப. வேலாயுதம் அவர்கள் தமது தலைமை உரையில் மீன் உணவின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்து கூறியதோடு மீனவர்களுக்கு தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் வழங்கும் பல்வேறு பயிற்சிகளைப்பற்றி எடுத்துரைத்தார். 
மீன்வளத் துறையின் தூத்துக்குடி மண்டல இணை இயக்குநர்                 திருமதி. ந. சந்திரா அவர்கள் தமது வாழ்த்துரையில் மீன்வளம் நீண்டகாலம் நிலைத்திருக்க மீனவர்களுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வு முகாம்கள் தேவைப்படுகின்றன இந்தச் சு10ழ்நிலையில் உலக மீன்வளத்தினத்தில் பொருப்பார்ந்த மீன்பிடிப்பு பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வு முகாமை தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் நடத்துவது மிகவும் பொறுத்தமானது எனக் குறிப்பிட்டார். மாலுமி தலைவர் செ. விஸ்வநாதன் முதல்வர் (பொ) இளநிலை மீன்வள மாலுமிகலை தொழில்நுட்பக்கல்லூரி அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரையில் மாலுமிகலை மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம் பற்றிய கல்வி எவ்வாறு பொறுப்பார்ந்த மீன்பிடிப்பு முறைக்கு பயன்படும் என்பதை விவரித்தார். மேலும் அவர் மாணவர்களுக்கு கடலில் வேலைப்பார்க்கும் திறன் மற்றும் கடல் சார் ஓழுக்கம் பற்றிய பயிற்சி கொடுக்கப்படுவதாக அறிவித்தார். கல்லூரியின் மீன்வள விரிவாக்கம் பொருளியியல் மற்றும் புள்ளியியல் துறையின் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் இரா. சாந்தகுமார் அவர்கள் நன்றியுரை ஆற்றினார். மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியில் துறையின் உதவிப் பேராசியரியர் திரு. த. இரவிக்குமார் அவர்கள் நிகழ்ச்சியைத் தொகுத்து வழங்கினார்.
