‘TREE PLANTING’ PROGRAMME JOINTLY ORGANISED BY NSS UNIT OF FC&RI, THOOTHUKUDI AND ROTARY CLUB (TRAILBLAZERS)

As part of the Green Campus Initiative, the Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi, a constituent unit of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, and the Rotary Club (Trailblazers), Thoothukudi jointly organised a "Tree Planting" programme at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on November 19, 2021. Dr.N.V.Sujathkumar, Dean in-charge, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi welcomed the gathering. Dr.G.Sugumar, Vice- Chancellor,  Tamil Nadu   Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam,     in his presidential address, underlined the importance of planting trees as a source of hope for humanity. Rtn. Dr.E.Flora Juanita, Charter President of the Rotary Club of Thoothukudi (Trailblazers), gave a speech about the Rotary 4 Way Test and the value of being a Rotarian. This function was also attended by Rtn. Malarvizhi, Rtn. Geetha, and Rtn. Balamurugan. Mr.Muruganantham, NSS Programme Officer, proposed a vote of thanks. The college staff, students and Rotary Club officials are actively participated in the programme. The Vice-Chancellor of TNJFU, Dean in- charge, Rotary Club Officials, faculty staff and students planted a total of ten tree saplings in various places of  the institute. A pledge was also administered  to the staff, students and other audience on the observance "National Integration Day"
