Faculty Training Programme on “Navigation and Fishing Simulator Operation“

With the view to improve the standard of Teaching of Fishing and Navigational aspects by the faculty of the Department of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering (DF&TFE) of various constituent colleges of Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, the Department of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi organized a five days Faculty training programme on “Navigation and Fishing Simulator Operation” from 17.10.2022 to 21.10.2022”. A total of 8 faculty members of the Department of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering from various constituent Institutes of Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University participated in the programme. The inaugural function was held on 17-10-2022 at Centre for Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries, Fishing Harbour Campus, Thoothukudi. Mr. T. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor, DF&TFE, FC & RI, Thoothukudi welcomed the gathering. Dr. N. V. Sujath kumar, Dean In-charge, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi participated as Chief Guest and graced the occasion. In his Chief Guest address, he emphasized the need for a Navigation and Fishing Simulator for teaching and training fisheries students and fishermen respectively. Dr.N.Neethiselvan, Professor and Head, DF&TFE delivered introductory speech about the training programme. Capt.S.Viswanathan, Dean, College of Fisheries Nautical Technology and Capt. Gaurav Bajaj, Director, Simulation projects, New Delhi delivered felicitation addresses. Mr.S.Mariappan, Assistant Professor, DF&TFE delivered the vote of thanks.

The training programme included both Navigational and Fishing aspects.

The Navigational aspects include

(i) Marine communication system,

(ii) Global Maritime Distress and Safety system,

(iii) Distress signals,

(iv) Winch controlling devices,

(v) Rules of the road besides Navigational equipment’s such as RADAR, AIS and Vessel Monitoring system. The fishing related aspects included demonstration on the operation of trawl net, purse seine, gill net, long line and fishing equipment’s such as Echo sounder and SONAR.

The valedictory function of the training programme was held on 21.10.2022. Dr.N.V.Sujathkumar, Dean In-charge, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi participated as chief guest in the valedictory function and distributed the certificates to the participants. Dr. N. Neethiselvan, Professor and Head, Department of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering coordinated the entire training programme.

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழத்தின்கீழ் செயல்பட்டு வரும் மீன்வளக் கல்லூரிகளின் மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறைகளில் கல்வித் தரத்தை மேம்படுத்தும் பொருட்டு தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக் கல்லூரியின் மீன் மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையானது “செயற்கை மாலுமிக்கலை மற்றும் மீன்பிடி பாவனைக் கருவியின் செயல்பாடு” என்ற தலைப்பில் ஐந்து நாட்களுக்கான பயிற்சி ஒன்றை எட்டு ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு நடத்தியது.

இப்பயிற்சியானது 17.10.2022 முதல் 21.10.2022 வரை தூத்துக்குடி மீன்பிடித் துறைமுக வளாகத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் மீன்வளத் தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சிமையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. பயிற்சியின் துவக்க விழாவில் தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின்மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையின் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் திரு. த. இரவிக்குமார் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார். கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் (பொறுப்பு) முனைவர் ந. வ. சுஜாத்குமார் தலைமை தாங்கினார். அவர்தம் தலைமையுரையில் மாணவர்களுக்கு கல்வி போதிக்கவும் மீனவர்களுக்குப் பயிற்சியளிக்கவும் செயற்கை மாலுமிக்கலை மற்றும் மீன்பிடி பாவனைக் கருவியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்தினார். மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பத் துறையின் தலைவர் முனைவர் நீ. நீதிச்செல்வன் பயிற்சி விளக்கயுரை ஆற்றினார். தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வள மாலுமிக்கலைக் கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் கேப்டன் செ. விஸ்வநாதன் மற்றும் பயிற்சியாளர் கேப்டன் கௌரவ் பஜாஜ் இயக்குநர் பாவனைத் திட்டங்கள் அப்ளைடு ரிசர்ச் இண்டர்நேசனல் பிரைவேட் லிமிட்டேட் புதுடெல்லி ஆகியோர் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார்கள். மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பத்துறையின் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் திரு. ச. மாரியப்பன் நன்றியுரை ஆற்ற துவக்க விழா இனிதே நிறைவடைந்தது.

ஐந்து நாட்கள் பயிற்சியின் போது மாலுமிக்கலை சம்பந்தப்பட்ட

1) கடல் தொலைத் தொடர்பு அமைப்பு

2) உலகளவிய கடல்சார் இடர்களைதல் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பு

3) இடர்கால சமிக்கைகள்

4) இழுவைக் கருவிகள் கட்டுப்பாட்டு முறை

5) கடற்பயண விதி முறைகள் மற்றும்

6) மாலுமிக்கலை சாதனங்களான ரேடார் தானியங்கி அடையாளங்காட்டும் கருவி மற்றும் படகு மேற்பார்வைக் கருவி ஆகியவற்றின் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்தும் பாவனைக் கருவியின் உதவியுடன் செய்முறை விளக்கங்கள் தரப்பட்டன. மீன்பிடிப்புச் சார்ந்த பயிற்சிகளில் இழுவலை சுருக்குப்பை வலை செவுள் வலை ஆயிரங்கால் தூண்டில் போன்றவற்றின் இயக்கங்கள் குறித்தும் செயல்முறை விளக்கம் தரப்பட்டதுடன் மீன்பிடிக் கருவிகளான எதிரொலி அளப்பான் மற்றும் சோனார் ஆகியவற்றின் செயல்முறை விளக்கங்களும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன.

இப்பயிற்சியின் நிறைவு விழா 21.10.2022 அன்று மாலை 3.00 மணியளவில் நடைபெற்றது. விழாவிற்குக் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் ந. வ. சுஜாத் குமார் தலைமை தாங்கி பயிற்சி பெற்றவர்களுக்கு சான்றுகளை வழங்கினார். இப்பயிற்சி முழுமையும் சீராக நடைபெற மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பத் துறையின் தலைவர் மற்றும் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் நீ. நீதிச்செல்வன் அவர்கள் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளராக செயல்பட்டார்.
