Awareness Programme on World Tsunami Awareness Day

Every year, November 5 th is observed as “World Tsunami Awareness Day”. Awareness programme on “World Tsunami Awareness Day” was organised by Department of Aquatic Environment Management, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on 05.11.2022. In this programme, Dr.P.Padmavathy, Professor and Head, welcomed the gathering and narrated about Tsunami awareness, impact and preparedness and Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean, in his presidential address highlighted the importance of Tsunami Awareness among the students and staff. In this connection, essay writing (Tamil and English), slogan writing, poster making and elocution (Tamil and English) competitions were conducted among the students of FCRI, Thoothukudi to to raise awareness for early warnings and actions to protect people, save lives, and prevent the hazard from becoming a disaster. At the end of the programme, certificates and prizes were issued to the winners. Dr.V.Rani, Associate Professor proposed vote of thanks. Dr.D.Manimekalai and S.Manickavasagam, Assistant Professors were coordinated the programme.

ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நவம்வர் 05-ஆம் தேதி உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. சுனாமியின் தன்மை மற்றும் முன்னேற்பாடுகளை நம் சமூகத்திற்கு உணர்த்தவும் உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் தூத்துக்குடி 05.11.2022 அன்று நீர்வளச் சூழலியல் மேலாண்மைத் துறையால் ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்டு உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினம் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. தொடக்க விழாவில் பேராசிரியை மற்றும் தலைவர் முனைவர்.பா.பத்மாவதி கூட்டத்தை வரவேற்று தற்போதைய சுனாமி பற்றிய எச்சரிக்கை முன்னேற்பாடுகள் மற்றும் அதன் அவசியம் பற்றியும் விளக்கமாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் முதல்வர் முனைவர். ப. அகிலன் தனது தலைமை உரையில் உலக சுனாமி விழிப்புணர்வு தினத்தை கொண்டாடுவதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்தியும் எதிர்கால சந்ததியினருக்காக சுனாமியின் விழிப்புணர்வு மற்றும் முன்னேற்பாடுகளில் மாணவர்களின் பங்கு மற்றும் அதன் அவசியத்தையும் விரிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். கட்டுரைப்போட்டி (தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலம்) வாசகம் எழுதுதல்;இ ஓவியப் போட்டி மற்றும் பேச்சுப்போட்டிகள் இளநிலை மாணாக்கர்களுக்கிடையே நடத்தப்பட்டது. இதில் 45 மாணாக்கர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர். போட்டிகளில் வெற்றி பெற்றவர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள் மற்றும் சான்றிதழ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. முனைவர் வே. ராணி இணைப்பேராசிரியர் நிகழ்ச்சியின் இறுதியில் நன்றியுரை வழங்கினர். நீர்வளச் சூழலியல் மேலாண்மைத் துறையின் உதவிப்பேராசிரியர்கள் முனைவர்.து.மணிமேகலை மற்றும் திரு.சா.மாணிக்கவாசகம் இந்நிகழ்ச்சியை ஒருங்கிணைத்து நடத்தினர்.
