Training on “Freshwater Ornamental Fish Farming”

Department of Aquaculture, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi organized two days training on “Freshwater Ornamental Fish Farming” from 15.11.2022 to 16.11.2022. The aim of this training programme is to provide skill based training in ornamental fish culture which will pave way for self-employment of the trainees by starting their own farming practices. A total of 10 trainees from various places of Thoothukudi attended the programme. During this programme, details about commercially important ornamental fishes, their breeding behaviour, feeding, water quality and disease management, packaging and transportation of fishes and economics of ornamental farming along with state or centrally funded schemes were explained to participants. The participants were also taken on an exposure visit to the ornamental fish culture unit of Freshwater Fish Farm complex at thus college. so as to gain hands on knowledge in Ornamental Fish Culture and learn the onsite practices followed in ornamental fish farm. Dr. B. Ahilan, Dean distributed the certificates to the participants and interacted with the trainees to motivate them to start their venture in ornamental fish culture. Dr. C. Judith Betsy, Assistant Professor of this Department organized the training programme and Mr. A. Anix Vivek Santhiya, Assistant Professor of this Department coordinated the programme. தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஒரு அங்கமான மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின்; கீழ் இயங்கி வரும் மீன்வளர்ப்புத் துறையில் “நன்னீர் அலங்கார மீன் வளர்ப்பு” பற்றிய 2 நாள் பயிற்சி 15.11.2022 முதல் 16.11.2022 வரை நடைபெற்றது. இதில் பல்வேறு மாவட்டத்தை சார்ந்த 10 பயனாளிகள் கலந்து கொண்டு பயன் பெற்றனர். இப்பயிற்சியில் அலங்கார மீன்வளர்ப்பு குறித்த விளக்கப்பாடங்களும் செயல் விளக்கங்களும் அளிக்கப்பட்டது. முக்கிய அலங்கார மீன்கள் அவற்றின் இனப்பெருக்கம்இ நீர்தரப் பராமரிப்பு உயிர் உணவுகள் பொருளாதாரம் மற்றும் மத்திய மாநில அளவிலான நிதியுதவித் திட்டங்கள் நோய்கள் மற்றும் குணப்படுத்தும் முறைகள; அலங்கார மீன்களை பாதுகாப்பான முறையில் கொண்டு செல்லும் வழிகள் ஆகியவை பற்றி விரிவாக எடுத்துரைக்கப்பட்டன. சக்கம்மாள்புரத்தில் உள்ள அலங்கார மீன்வளர்ப்பு பண்ணைக்கு களப்பயணம் மேற்கொண்டு விளக்கம் அளிக்கப்பட்டது. இப்பயிற்சியின் நிறைவு விழாவில் மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் ப. அகிலன்; அவர்கள் பயிற்சியில் கலந்து கொண்ட பயனாளிகளுக்கு சான்றிதழ்கள் வழங்கி பயனாளிகளுடன் கலந்துரையாடி இப்பயிற்சியின் வாயிலாக புதிய அலங்கார மீன்வளர்ப்பு பண்ணைகளை மேற்கொண்டு அதன் மூலம் பொருளாதாரத்தில் மேம்பட வேண்டும் என்று ஊக்குவித்தார். முனைவர் சா. ஜுடித் பெட்ஸி உதவிப் பேராசிரியர்; மற்றும் திரு. அனிக்ஸ் விவேக் சந்தியா உதவிப் பேராசிரியர்; மீன்வளர்ப்புத்துறை அவர்கள் இப்பயிற்சியை ஒருங்கிணைத்து விரிவாக நடத்தினார். மேலும் “அலங்கார மீன்வளர்ப்பு” பற்றிய விளக்கங்கள் அறிய பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் மீன்வளர்ப்புத்;துறையை தொடர்பு கொண்டு பயன்பெறலாம்.
