Inaugural function of one week training Programme on “Care and Maintenance of fishing boat engine and safety of fishermen at sea to the fishermen of mechanized fishing vessels of Kanyakumari”

The Department Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering (DFT&FE) of Fisheries College and Research Institute (FC&RI), one of the constituent units of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University and District Skill Development Office, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari jointly organized a one week on campus training programme on “Care and Maintenance of fishing boat engine and safety of fishermen at sea to the fishermen of mechanized fishing vessels of Kanyakumari district” from 14.03.2023 to 21.03.2023 with the financial assistance from Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, Chennai under SANKALP Scheme. A total of 20 fishermen from Kanyakumari district participated in the programme. The inaugural function was held on 14.03.2023 at 11.00 a.m. at Centre for Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries, Fishing Harbour campus, Thoothukudi. Mr. S. Mariappan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering, DFTFE, FC & RI, Thoothukudi welcomed the gathering. Capt. K. S. Pandian, Dean, Tamil Nadu Maritime Academy, Thoothukudi served as the chief guest. He emphasized that the fishermen working in deep sea fishing vessels should have knowledge in Navigational and safety aspects on par with those working in Merchants ships as they venture into the deep sea in the recent years. Further, he told that the training would be useful for the fishermen to rectify the defects of the minor repairs of the engine by themselves in the mid-sea.

Dr. N. Neethiselvan, Professor and Head, DFT&FE explained the training activities to be given to the fishermen during the training. Mrs. Virgil Cross, Assistant Director, Dept. of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Kanyakumari district expressed the importance of training on the marine engine maintenance for the deep sea going fishermen. Dr. N. V. Sujathkumar, Professor and Head, Dept. of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics stressed the need for licensing of fishermen as boat driver after undergoing the training. Mr. S. P. Lakshmikanthan, Assistant Director, District Skill Development Office, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district expressed that the fishermen should update their technical knowledge in fishing technology through training programme. Capt. S. Viswanathan, Dean, College of Fisheries Nautical Technology, Thoothukudi informed that this kind of training will be offered from Directorate of Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries function at Mandapam, Ramanathapuram district. In his presidential address Dr. B. Ahilan, Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi stated that FC & RI, Thoothukudi would continue to undertake this kind of training programme in future too. Mr. T. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of FT & FE delivered the vote of thanks. The entire programme was coordinated by Mrs. S. Archana, Ph. D. Scholar.

கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்ட மீனவர்களுக்கான மீன்பிடிப்படகு என்ஜின் பராமரிப்பு மற்றும் கடலில் மீனவர்களின் பாதுகாப்பு” என்ற ஒரு வார கால உள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியின் துவக்க விழா

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமான மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையும் கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்ட திறன் மேம்பாட்டு பயிற்சி அலுவலகமும் இணைந்து சென்னையில் அமைந்துள்ள தமிழ்நாடு திறன் மேம்பாட்டுக் கழகத்தின் சங்கல்ப் திட்ட நிதியுதவியுடன் நடத்தும் கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்ட மீனவர்களுக்கான மீன்பிடிப்படகு என்ஜின் பராமரிப்பு மற்றும் கடலில் மீனவர்களின் பாதுகாப்பு என்ற ஒரு வாரகால உள்வளாகப்; பயிற்சியானது 14.03.2023 முதல் 21.03.2023 வரை நடைபெற உள்ளது. இதன் துவக்க விழாவானது 14.03.2023 அன்று காலை 11.00 மணியளவில் தூத்துக்குடி மீன்பிடித் துறைமுக வளாகத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள மீன்வளத் தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சி மையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. இப்பயிற்சியில் கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்த 20 மீனவர்கள் பயிற்சியில் கலந்து கொண்டார்கள்;. திரு. ச. மாரியப்பன் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார்;. நிகழ்ச்சியில் தூத்துக்குடி மத்திய கடல்சார் பயிற்சி நிலையத்தின் முதல்வர் கேப்டன் கே எஸ். பாண்டியன் அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டார்.

அவர் தம் சிறப்புரையில் மீனவர்கள் வணிக கப்பல்களில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் பாதுகாப்பு அம்சங்களை தங்களின் ஆழ்கடல் படகுகளில் பயன்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்று ஆலோசனை தெரிவித்தார். ஏனெனில் தற்போதைய ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப் படகுகள் வணிகக்கப்பல்கள் பயணிக்கும் தொலைதூர கடலில்களில் மீன்பிடித்து வருகின்றனர் என்பதனை அறிவுறுத்திப் பேசினார். உயிர்பாதுகாப்பு உபகரணங்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைத்தார். கடலில் இருக்கும்போது படகு என்ஜினில் பழுது ஏற்பட்டால் மீனவர்களே பழுது நீக்குவதற்கு இப்பயிற்சி மிகவும் உதவியாக இருக்கும் எனவும் கூறினார். மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையின் பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் முனைவர் நீ. நீதிச்செல்வன் அவர்கள் பயிற்சி விளக்கவுரையாற்றினார். திருமதி விர்ஜில் கிராஸ் உதவி இயக்குநர் மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நலத்துறை கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டம் அவர்கள் தமது வாழ்த்துரையில் மீனவர்களுக்கான எஞ்சின் பராமரிப்பின் முக்கியத்துவம் பற்றிப் பேசினார். முனைவர் ந. வ. சுஜாத்குமார் பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் மீன்வள விரிவாக்கம் தனது வாழ்த்துரையில் மீன்பிடிப் படகு ஓட்டுநர் உரிமத்தின் முக்கியத்துவம் பற்றி பேசினார். கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்ட திறன் பயிற்சி அலுவலகத்தின் உதவி இயக்குநர் திரு. எஸ். பி. இலட்சுமிகாந்தன் அவர்கள் மீனவர்கள் நவீனத் தொழில்நுட்பம் பற்றி அறிந்திருக்க வேண்டியதின் அவசியத்தை வலியுறுத்தினார்.

தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வள மாலுமிக்கலைத் தொழில்நுட்ப கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் செ. விஸவநாதன் அவர்கள் தமது வாழ்த்துரையில் இதுபோன்ற பயிற்சிகளை மீனவர்களின் தேவைக்கேற்ப இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்ட மண்டபத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள மீன்வள கடல்சார் தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சி இயக்குநரகம் தொடர்ந்து நடத்தும் எனத் தெரிவித்தார். மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் ப. அகிலன் தலைமையுரை ஆற்றினார். அவர் தம் தலைமையுரையில் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடி மீனவர்களுக்கான பயிற்சிகளின் தேவையை வலியுறுத்தினார். மேலும் இது போன்ற மீனவர்களுக்குப் பயன்படும் பயிற்சிகளை கல்லூரி தொடர்ந்து நடத்தும் எனவும் உறுதியளித்தார். இந்த ஒரு வாரகால உள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியின் போது கடல்சார் மின்னணுச் சாதனங்களைக்; கையாளுதல் கடலில் முதலுதவி மற்றும் கடலில் மீனவர் பாதுகாப்பு கடல் வானிலை மாலுமிக்கலை வரைபடங்கள் ஆயிரங்கால் தூண்டில் வடிவமைப்பு மாலுமிக்கலை ஒலிச் சமிக்கைகள் மற்றும் கடற்பயண விதிகள் தீயணைப்பு முறைகள் மற்றும் செயல்விளக்கம்; மீன்பிடிப் படகுகளில் மீன்களைக் கையாளுதல்; ஆகிய தலைப்புகளில் பயிற்சிகள் வழங்கப்படவிருக்கிறது.
