77th Independence Day Celebration

The Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi, a constituent college of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam, celebrated the 77 th Independence Day on 15.08.2023, while also commemorating the 75 th Anniversary of India's Independence in a magnificent manner. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college participated in the programme.

The Security Staff Commander, Student Representative, Assistant Director of Physical Education and the Sports Secretary accompanied the Dean in-charge, Dr. N. V. Sujathkumar, FC&RI, Thoothukudi, to the dais. Security personnel and students formed a guard of honour, and Dr. N. V. Sujathkumar, the Dean in-charge, hoisted the National Flag. The flag was honoured by the College teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as Security Personnel.

In his Independence Day speech, Dr. N. V. Sujathkumar highlighted India's progress in five themes: Freedom struggle, ideas, resolution, action and achievements. He also focused on the agriculture and fisheries sector and discussed the achievements of our University. He paid tribute to the patriotic leaders of Thoothukudi district and discussed the concept of patriotism in the present-day context.

Mr. Nikhat and Ms. Rishona, both first B.F.Sc. students, delivered speeches on patriotism in English and Tamil, respectively. As part of the occasion, the NSS and Students Association jointly organized a special programme on the theme "Mahakavi Bharathiar and the National Freedom Movement." During this event, Ms. B. Lakhsmi Kalyani, I B.F.Sc., delivered a patriotic speech on Mahakavi Bharathiar. Awards and appreciation certificates were presented to the winners of the Elocution competition on the topic “Role of Rajarajaslolan in India's Independence” (Tamil) and Poetry writing on“ Subramaniyabharathiyar” (Tamil) conducted among the students. The NSS Unit of the institute also organized a tree plantation drive as part of the occasion.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets. Dr. V. Senthilkumar, Associate Professor, DFEES, arranged the event in a grand manner, Dr. D. Natarajan, Asst. Director of Physical Education and Dr.F.Parthiban, Sports Secretary, FC&RI, Thoothukudi coordinated the entire event.

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமான தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தில் 77வது சுதந்திர தினவிழா வெகு சிறப்பாக 15.08.2023 அன்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது

இவ்விழாவில் இக்கல்லூரியின்; ஆசிரியர்கள் அலுவலக பணியாளர்கள் மற்றும் மாணவ-மாணவிகள் திரளாக கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தனர். இவ்விழாவிற்கு பாதுகாப்பு கமாண்டோ மாணவ பிரதிநிதி உதவி உடற்கல்வி இயக்குநர் மற்றும் விளையாட்டு செயலர்; அவர்கள் இக்கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் அவர்களை விழா மேடைக்கு அழைத்து வந்தார். அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து பாதுகாப்பு பணியாளர்கள் மற்றும் மாணவ-மாணவிகள் அணிவகுப்பு மரியாதையை நிகழ்த்தினார்கள். இக்கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் (பொறுப்பு) முனைவர் ந.வ.சுஜாத்குமார் அவர்கள் நமது தேசிய கொடியை ஏற்றினார். இக்கல்லூரியின் ஆசிரியர்கள்; அலுவலக பணியாளர்கள் மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு பணியாளர்கள் அனைவரும் தேசிய கொடிக்கு மரியாதையுடன் வணக்கம் செலுத்தினர்.

இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து இக்கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் அவர்கள் தனது சுதந்திர தின உரையில் 75வது சுதந்திர தின அனுசரிப்பின் முக்கிய அம்சங்களான சுதந்திர போராட்டம் யோசனைகள் தீர்வுகள் செயல்பாடுகள் சாதனைகள் போன்றவற்றில் இந்தியாவின் முன்னேற்றம் நினைவுகூர்ந்ததோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல் அதனோடு விவசாயம் மற்றும் மீன்வளத்தில் வளர்ச்சி குறித்தும் எடுத்துரைத்தார். மேலும் மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழத்தின் சாதனைகள் குறித்து விரிவாக விளக்கினார். மேலும் சுதந்திரத்திற்கு பாடுபட்ட தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்த தியாகிகளை போற்றி நினைவுகூர்ந்தார். இன்றைய காலக்கட்டத்தில் நாட்டுப்பற்றை எடுத்துரைத்து பெற்ற சுதந்திரத்தை பேணி காக்க வலியுறுத்தினார். இவ்விழாவில் முதலாம்; ஆண்டு இளங்கலை மீன்வள அறிவியியல்; மாணவி செல்வி நிக்கத் மற்றும் செல்வி ரிஸோனா முறையே ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் தமிழில் சுதந்திர தின உரை நிகழ்த்தினார்கள்.

மேலும் மாண்புமிகு கவர்னர் அவர்களின் உத்தரவின்படி மாணவர் சங்கம் மற்றும் நாட்டுநலப்பணித் திட்டம் இணைந்து “மகாகவி பாரதியார் மற்றும் தேசிய விடுதலை பயணம்” என்ற மையக்கருத்தின் அடிப்படையில் மாணவ-மாணவிகளிடையே “சுதந்திரப் போராட்டத்தில் பாரதியாரின் பங்களிப்பு” என்ற தலைப்பில் பேச்சுப்போட்டியும் “மகாகவி பாரதியாரைப் பற்றிய கவிதைகள”; என்ற தலைப்பில் கவிதைப்போட்டியும் நடத்தப்பட்டு வெற்றிபெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் சான்றிழ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டது. இதன் பகுதியாக இளங்கலை முதலாம் ஆண்டு மாணவி செல்வி லெட்சுமி கல்யாணி அவர்கள் “மகாகவி பாரதியின் சுதந்தர தாகம்” குறித்து உரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.

மேலும் இதன் நினைவாக நாட்டுநலத் திட்டத்தின் சார்பாக மரக்கன்று கல்லூரியின் வளாகத்தில் நடப்பட்டது. நிறைவாக இவ்விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்ட அனைவருக்கும் இனிப்பு வழங்கி சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது. முனைவர் வ. செந்தில்குமார் இணைப்பேராசிரியர் அவர்கள் இவ்விழாவிற்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை சிறப்பாக செய்து இருந்தார். இவ்விழாவினை உதவி உடற்கல்வி இயக்குநர் முனைவர் த.நடராஜன் மற்றும் விளையாட்டு செயலாளர் திரு. பா. பார்த்திபன் ஆகியோர்கள் ஒருங்கிணைத்து சிறப்பாக நடத்தினார்கள்.
