One week Training Programme on “Livelihood upgradation of fisherwomen of Thoothukudi district through training on Gill net designing, assembling and net mending”

The Department of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering (DFT&FE)of Fisheries College and Research Institute (FC&RI), Thoothukudi, one of the constituent units of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University is organizing a one week on campus training programme on “Livelihood upgradation of fisherwomen of Thoothukudi district through training on Gill net designing, assembling and net mending”from11.10.2023 to 18.10.2023.   A total of 30 fisherwomen of Pazhayakayalfishing village from Thoothukudi district are participating the training programme.  The inaugural function of this training programme was held at Centre for Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries, Thoothukudi of the University at Fishing harbour campus, Thoothukudi on 11.10.2023 at 10.00 a.m.  Dr. B.Ahilan, Dean presided over the function.  In his presidential address, he mentioned that it is a new initiative taken by the Institute for the livelihood up-gradation of fisherwomen and expressed his wish that the trainees would evolve as entrepreneurs.  Mr. T. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor, DFTFE, FC & RI, Thoothukudi welcomed the gathering. Mr.R. Amal Xavier, Joint Director of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, Thoothukudi participated as Chief Guest and graced the occasion.In his Chief Guest address, the JointDirector emphasized the importance of fisherwomen to take up training on Gillnet designing assembling and net mending for their livelihood up-gradation through income generation by taking up net mending and gill net designing.   Dr. N. Neethiselvan, Professor and Head, Dept. of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering, FC & RI., Thoothukudi briefed the details of the training programme proposed to be given such as knots, bends, hitches used in gill net fabrication, selvedge fabrication, shaping and joining of webbing, net mending and preparation model gill nets.  Dr.N.V.Sujathkumar, Dept. of FEES, Thoothukudi, Mrs. J.Angel Vijaya Nirmala, Assistant Director, District Skill Training Office, Thoothukudi delivered felicitation addresses. Mr. A. Antony Micheal Prabakar, Assistant Engineer, Dept. of FT & FE delivered the vote of thanks. PG scholars Mrs. S. Archana, Mrs. J. Amala Shajeeva, Ms. D. Sundaraeshwari, Mr. E. Dinesh Kumar, Mr. M. Veeramani and Ms. S. Emiema coordinated the training programme.

'மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலை வடிவமைத்தல்,பின்னல் மற்றும் வலைசீர் செய்தல்  என்ற ஒருவாரகால உள்வாளகப் பயிற்சியின் துவக்கவிழா

     தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதாமீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமான மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறை 'மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலைவடிவமைத்தல் பின்னல் மற்றும் வலைசீர் செய்தல் பற்றிய பயிற்சி என்ற ஒருவாரகால உள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியை 11.10.2023 முதல் 18.10.2023 வரை நடத்தி வருகிறது.  இதன் துவக்கவிழாவானது 11.10.2023 அன்றுகாலை 10.00 மணியளவில் தூத்துக்குடி மீன்பிடித் துறைமுக வளாகத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள மீன்வளத் தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சிமையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.  இப்பயிற்சியில் தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்த பழையகாயல் கிராம 30 மீனவப் பெண்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நலத்துறை இணை இயக்குநர் திரு. இரா. அமல் சேவியர் அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்து கொண்டார்.  அவர்தம் சிறப்புரையில் மீனவப் பெண்களுக்காகக் கொடுக்கப்படும் இப்பயிற்சியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் அதன் பயன்களையும் எடுத்துரைத்தார்.  விழாவிற்கு முனைவர் ப. அகிலன் முதல்வர் மீன்வளக் கல்லூரிமற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் தூத்துக்குடி அவர்கள் தலைமை வகித்தார்.  அவர்தம் தலைமையுரையில் மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலைவடிவமைத்தல் பின்னல் மற்றும் சீர்செய்தல் பயிற்சியானது இக்கல்லூரியின் மூலம் வழங்கப்படுவது பாராட்டுதற்குரியது எனக் கூறினார்.  மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையின் பேராசிரியர்மற்றும் தலைவர் முனைவர் நீ.நீதிச்செல்வன் அவர்கள் தனது பயிற்சி விளக்கவுரையில் மீன்பிடி வளர்ச்சியில் பெண்களின் பங்கு இன்றியமையாது என்றும் மேலும் இப்பயிற்சியானது மீனவப் பெண்களின் பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டிற்கு உதவும் எனவும் எடுத்துரைத்தார்.  மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின்  உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் த. இரவிக்குமார் அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார். திருமதி. ஏஞ்சல் விஜய நிர்மலா உதவி இயக்குநர் மாவட்டத் திறன் பயிற்சிஅலுவலகம் தூத்துக்குடி ஆகியோர் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினர்.  
இந்த ஒருவார காலஉள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியின் போது செவுள்வலைகளில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் பல்வேறு முடிச்சுக்ள் வலைவுகள் கயிறு இணைத்தல் முறைவலைகளை வடிவமைத்தல் மடங்குபின்னுதல் வலைவெட்டி சீர்செய்யும் முறைகள் வலைகளை இணைக்கும் முறைகள் மற்றும் மாதிரி செவுள் வலைவடிவமைத்தல் ஆகிய தலைப்புகளில் பயிற்சிகள் வழங்கப்படவிருக்கிறது.   மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையின் உதவிப் பொறியாளர் அ. அந்தோணி மிக்கேல் பிரகாகர் நன்றியுரை ஆற்றினார்.  முதநிலை ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் திருமதி சே. அர்ச்சனா திருமதி ஜே. அமலா சஜீவா செல்வி த. சுந்தரேஸ்வரி திரு. இ. தினேஸ் குமார் திரு. மு. வீரமணி மற்றும் செல்வி சூ. ஏமிமா ஆகியோர் பயிற்சி ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர்களாகச் செயல்பட்டனர்.
