One-week Training Programme on “Livelihood upgradation of fisherwomen of Thoothukudi district through training on Gill net designing, assembling and net mending”

The Department of Fishing Technology and Fisheries Engineering (DFT&FE) of Fisheries College and Research Institute (FC&RI), Thoothukudi, one of the constituent units of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University was organized a one week on campus training programme on “Livelihood upgradation of fisherwomen of Thoothukudi district through training on Gill net designing, assembling and net mending” from 11.10.2023 to 18.10.2023.   A total of 30 fisherwomen from Pazhayakayal of Thoothukudi district participated in this programme.  The valedictory function of this training programme was held at Centre for Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries, Thoothukudi on 18.10.2023. Dr. N. Neethieslvan, Professor and Head, DFTFE, FC & RI, Thoothukudi welcomed the gathering.  Dr. N.V.Sujathkumar presided over the function.  In his presidential address, he emphasized that all the trainees should utilize the technical guidance by Fisheries College and Research Institute and financial opportunity by District Industries Centre, Thoothukudi to become entrepreneur. Mrs. G.Jerina Babi, IEDS, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Tirunelveli, participated as Chief Guest and graced the occasion. In her Chief Guest address, she emphasized the importance of fisherwomen to take up training on Gillnet designing assembling and net mending for their livelihood up-gradation through income generation by taking up net mending and gill net designing and encourage the fisherwomen to startup a business in future. She acknowledged the efforts of the organizers and the hard work that went into planning and executing the event.   Mrs. J. Angel Vijaya Nirmala, Assistant Director, District Skill Training Office, Thoothukudi, delivered felicitation address. A feedback session was held to gather input from participants about the training programme and they specially thanked the Dr.Innocent Divya, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, Chennai for their funding support. Best trainee award was given to Mrs.J. Selvajothi for her active participation in the one week training programme. Mr. S. Mariappan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of FT & FE delivered the vote of thanks.  Er. A. Antony Micheal Prabakar, Assistant Engineer, Ph.D. scholars Mrs. S. Archana, Mrs.J.Amala Shajeeva and Ms. D. Sundaraeswari had made arrangement for the training programme.

"மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலை வடிவமைத்தல், பின்னல் மற்றும் வலைசீர் செய்தல்  என்ற ஒருவார கால உள்வாளகப் பயிற்சியின் நிறைவுவிழா'

தமிழ்நாடு  டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமான மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறை "மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலை வடிவமைத்தல் பின்னல் மற்றும் வலைசீர் செய்தல் பற்றிய பயிற்சி”என்ற ஒரு வாரகால உள்வளாகப் பயிற்சியை 11.10.2023 முதல் 18.10.2023 வரை நடத்தியது.  இதன் நிறைவு விழாவானது 18.10.2023 அன்று மாலை 03.00 மணியளவில் தூத்துக்குடி மீன்பிடித் துறைமுக வளாகத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள மீன்வளத் தொழில் காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சிமையத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.  இப்பயிற்சியில் தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்தைச் சார்ந்த 30 மீனவப் பெண்கள் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

நிகழ்ச்சியில் மீன்பிடித் தொழில் நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் மீன்வளப் பொறியியல் துறையின் பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் தலைவர் முனைவர் நீ.நீதிச்செல்வன் அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.  தனது பயிற்சி விளக்கவுரையில் மீன்பிடி வளர்ச்சியில் பெண்களின் பங்கு இன்றியமையாது என்றும் மேலும் இப்பயிற்சியானது மீனவப் பெண்களின் பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டிற்கு உதவும் எனவும் எடுத்துரைத்தார்.  விழாவிற்கு முனைவர் ந. வ. சுஜாத்குமார் முதல்வர் (பொறுப்பு) மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் தூத்துக்குடி அவர்கள் தலைமை வகித்தார்.  அவர்தம் தலைமையுரையில் மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலை வடிவமைத்தல் பின்னல் மற்றும் சீர்செய்தல் பயிற்சியானது முதன் முறையாக இக்கல்லூரியின் மூலம் வழங்கப்படுவது பாராட்டுதற்குரியது எனக் கூறினார். திருமதி ஜி. ஜெரினாபபி உதவி இயக்குநர் இந்தியத் தொழில் முனைவோர் வளர்ச்சிப் பணி குறு சிறு நடுத்தரத் தொழில் முனைவோர் நல நிலையம் திருநெல்வேலி அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்திராகக் கலந்துகொண்டார்.  அவர்தம் சிறப்புரையில் மீனவப் பெண்களுக்கான செவுள் வலை வடிவமைத்தல் பின்னல் மற்றும் சீர்செய்தல் பயிற்சியானது எதிர்காலத்தில் தங்களுக்கு ஒரு வருமானம் ஈட்டக்கூடியத் தொழிலாக மாறவேண்டும் எனவும் அதற்கு இந்திய அரசின் குறுசிறு நடுத்தரத் தொழில் முனைவோர் நல நிலையம் திருநெல்வேலி மையம் மிகவும் உறுதுணையாக இருக்கும் எனவும் உறுதியளித்தார்.   திருமதி ஜே. ஏஞ்சல் விஜய நிர்மலா உதவி இயக்குநர் மாவட்டத் திறன் மேம்பாட்டு பயிற்சி அலுவலகம் அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினர். இப்பயிற்சியில் கலந்துகொண்டு பயன்பெற்ற மீனவப் பெண்கள் பயிற்சித் திட்டத்திற்கு ஏற்பாடுசெய்த தமிழ்நாடு திறன் மேம்பாட்டுகழகத்தின் பொது மேலாளர் திருமதி. இன்னசன்ட் திவ்யா அவர்களுக்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்தனர்.  மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் திரு. ச. மாரியப்பன் அவர்கள் நன்றியுரை நிகழ்த்தினார்.
