Conducted Run for Unity (Mini Marathon) on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel

Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University organized a Mini Marathon “Run for Unity” on the 148 th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on 31.10.2023. A total of 100 boys and 100 girls from the constituent colleges of Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University took part in the mini marathon. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi flagged off the race, with a 10 km run for boys starting at Pudukottai bus stop and a 5 km run for girls starting at Maravanmadam bus stop, with an end point at Fisheries College and Research Institute's Playground.
The top three places in the boy's category went to Mr.S.Kumaaraguru, Dr.MGR FC&RI, Ponneri, Mr.Kowsigan (Dr.MGR Fisheries College and Research Instiutte,Thalainayeru), Mr. Sanjay, Dr.MGR FC&RI, Ponneri, while the first three places in the girl's category went to Ms. Subbulakshmi, Dr.MGR FC&RI, Ponneri, Ms.Swathi (Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi) and Ms. Ragavi (Fisheries and Research Institute, Thoothukudi). The Medals and Trophy were presented to the winners by Mr. N.Suresh, B.E., Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi Sub Rural Division. In his Chief Guest address, he recalled the enormous efforts of India's Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in uniting the country's different princely states after independence, and emphasized the need of unity and integrity in taking the country forward. He also motivated the students by explaining the importance of running in the selection process of Indian Police Service. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean, presided over the function and congratulated the winners as well as other participants. Dr.K.S.Vijay Amirtharaj, the Sports Secretary, welcomed the gathering and Dr. D.Natarajan, Assistant Director of Physical Education proposed the vote of thanks. As part of this programme, all the staff and students were administered the pledge on “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National Unity Day) at the end of the programme which was co-ordinated by Mr.M.Muruganantham, NSS Programme Officer of this institute.

சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேலின் 148வது பிறந்த நாளை முன்னிட்டு 31.10.2023 அன்று, தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர்
ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் சார்பில் மாணவ மாணவிகளுக்கான மினி மராத்தான் போட்டி ‘ஓற்றுமைக்கான ஓட்டம்’ என்ற பெயரில் மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் நடத்தியது. இதில் பல்கலைகழகத்திலுள்ள உறுப்புக் கல்லூரிகளிலிருந்து மொத்தம் 100 மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் 100 மாணவிகள் பங்கு பெற்றனர். இப்போட்டியை இக்கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் ப. அகிலன் அவர்கள் கொடியசைத்து தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.மாணவர்களுக்கான 10 கி.மீ ஓட்டப்பந்தயம் புதுக்கோட்டை பேருந்து நிறுத்ததிலிருந்தும் மாணவிகளுக்கான 5 கி.மீ ஓட்டப்பந்தயம் மறவன்மடம் பேருந்து நிறுத்ததிலிருந்து தொடங்கி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரியின் விளையாட்டு மைதானத்தில நிறைவுற்றது. இப்போட்டியில் மாணவர் பிரிவில் முதல் பரிசு செல்வன். எஸ் குமரகுரு, (டாக்டர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சிநிலையம்,பொன்னேரி), இரண்டாம் பரிசு செல்வன் கௌசிகன் ((டாக்டர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம், தலைஞாயிறு),முன்றாம் பரிசு சஞ்சய் (டாக்டர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம், பொன்னேரி) மற்றும் மாணவியர் பிரிவில் முதல் பரிசு செல்வி சுப்புலெட்சுமி, (டாக்டர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம், பொன்னேரி), இரண்டாம் பரிசு செல்வி சுவாதி (மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம், தூத்துக்குடி), மற்றும்
முன்றாம் பரிசு எஸ். ராகவி, (மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம், தூத்துக்குடி) வெற்றி பெற்றனர். வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவ, மாணவிகளுக்கு தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்ட ஊரக பிரிவு இணைக் காவல்துறை கண்காணிப்பாளர் திரு. ந. சுரேஷ்,அவர்கள் பரிசு கோப்பை மற்றும் சான்றிதழ் வழங்கினார். மேலும் அவர் தமது உரையில், சுதந்திரத்திற்கு பின்பு காணப்பட்ட பல சிறிய ராஜ்ஜியங்களை ஒன்றுபட்ட இந்தியாவாக மாற்றுவதற்கு இரும்பு மனிதரான சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேலின் உழைப்பை நினைவுகூர்ந்தார். ஒற்றுமை மற்றும் நல்லிணக்கம் மூலமாக நல்லதொரு இந்தியாவை உருவாக்கலாம் என்றும் உரையில் கூறினார்.மேலும் இந்திய காவல் பணி தேர்வு செய்வதற்கு ஓட்டம் ஒரு முக்கியமானது என்று மாணவர்களுக்கு அறிவுரை வழங்கி ஊக்குவித்தார்.
முனைவர் ப. அகிலன், முதல்வர் அவர்கள் தலைமையுரை நிகழ்த்தி வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு வாழ்த்து
தெரிவித்தார். அவரது உரையில் இளைய சமுதாயத்தினரை ஒன்றுபட்ட இந்தியாவை முன்நடத்தி செல்ல உறுதிமொழி ஏற்குமாறு அறிவுறுத்தினார். இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் விளையாட்டு செயலாளர் முனைவர் கே.எஸ்.விஜய் அமிர்தராஜ் அவர்கள் வரவேற்றார். உதவி உடற்கல்வி இயக்குநர் முனைவர். த. நடராஜன் அவர்கள் நன்றியுரை ஆற்றினார். மேலும் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியின் இறுதியாக, அனைத்து ஆசிரியர்கள், அலுவலர்கள் மற்றும் மாணவர்கள் தேசீய ஒற்றுமைக்கான நாளுக்கான உறுதிமொழியை எடுத்தனர்.
 இதற்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை திரு.முருகானந்தம், நாட்டுநலப்பணித்திட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் அவர்கள் செய்தார்.
