NSS Unit of Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi Organised an Cleaning Drive at Port Trust Beach, Thoothukudi

The NSS unit of Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi organized an Awareness cum Cleaning Drive at Thoothukudi Port Trust Beach on 02.10.2018 to mark the celebration of Birth Anniversary of Mahathma Gandhi. Dr.G.Sugumar, Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute inaugurated the cleaning drive and stressed the importance of keeping the beaches clean and requested the gathering to support the Government of Tamil Nadu initiative “Plastic Free Tamil Nadu”. He also explained the potential threat behind one time use plastic littering to environment and to the marine living organisms.

Totally 70 NSS volunteers of this college turned out to the beach. The participants removed garbage, debris and non-bio degradable materials found on the beach which in turn, motivated local populace towards maintaining a clean environment. Further, the NSS volunteers created “Sand Arts” on the theme “Plastic Free Tamil Nadu” which attracted numerous beach visitors and appreciated the efforts of the student volunteers. Mr.T.Ravikumar, NSS Programme Officer of this institute coordinated the entire programme.

தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்டத்தின் சார்பாக “தூத்துக்குடி புதிய துறைமுகத்தை சுத்தம் செய்தல்” நடைபெற்றது

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஒர் அங்கமான தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்டத்தின் சார்பாக 02.10.2018 அன்று தேசப்பிதா மகாத்மா காந்தி அவர்களின் பிறந்த தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு தூத்துக்குடி புதிய துறைமுகத்தில் சுத்தம் செய்யும் பணி மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக்கல்லூரி மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் கோ. சுகுமார் அவர்கள் துவக்கி வைத்து பேசும்போது கடற்கரை சுகாதாரம் மற்றும் ஒரு முறை பயன்படுத்தப்படும் பிளாஸ்டிக் கழிவுகளால் ஏற்படும் சுற்றுச்சு10ழல் மாசுபாடு மற்றும் கடல் வாழ் உயிரினங்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் பாதிப்புகள் குறித்து பொதுமக்கள் மற்றும் மாணவர்களுக்கு எடுத்துரைத்து தமிழக அரசின் புதிய முயற்சியான “நெகிழி இல்லா தமிழகம்” உருவாக அனைவரும் ஒத்துழைப்பு நல்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் இக்கல்லூரியின் 70 மாணவ-மாணவிகள் கலந்து கொண்டு; புதிய துறைமுகத்தில் உள்ள மக்கும் மற்றும் மக்காத குப்பைகளான நெகிழிப் பைரூபவ் மீன்பிடி வலைகள் போன்றவற்றை சுத்தம் செய்தனர். மேலும் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்ட மாணவர்கள் கடற்கரையில் நெகிழி ஒழிப்பு சம்பந்தமான “மணல் ஓவியங்கள்” வரைந்து பொதுமக்களை ரூடவ்ர்க்கும் வண்ணத்தில் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தினார்கள். இந்நிகழ்வு பொதுமக்களிடையே பெரும் வரவேற்பை பெற்றது மற்றும் இந்த புதிய முயற்சியினை அனைவரும் பாராட்டினர். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்ட அதிகாரி திரு. த. ரவிக்குமார் அவர்கள் ஒருங்கிணைத்தார்.
