The 12 th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sikkal, Nagapattinam was held on 17.04.2025 at the KVK premises. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Dr. N. Felix, Vice-Chancellor cum Chairman of SAC, Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University inaugurated the programme and delivered presidential address and released publications on “Overall achievement of KVK during the year 2024-25 During the event, high-yield goats breed, ornamental fish fingerlings were distributed to the farmers under Scheduled Caste sub-plan and also inaugurated the agricultural exhibition organized as part of the event. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the functioning of the KVK and urged that farmers' technical needs be addressed promptly. Dr. P. Padmavathy, DEE, TNJFU delivered introductory speech and elaborated on the objectives of the meeting. Dr. A. Gopalakrishnan, Programme Coordinator of the KVK welcomed the gathering and presented the follow-up actions taken on the recommendations of the 11 th SAC meeting and also presented the activities and achievements for the year 2024–25. Poovarajan, Professor and Head, Regional Research and Education Centre(TANUVAS), Pudukkottai, Mrs. Sharmila, Regional Joint Director of Fisheries, Department of Fisheries and Fisherman Welfare, Nagapattinam, Mr. Viswanath Kanna, NABARD District Development Manager, Nagapattinam, Mr. Jayaraj, Assistant Director,Department of Fisheries and Fisherman Welfare, Nagapattinam, Mr.Mohammed Sadiq, Assistant Director, Department of Horticulture, Nagapattinam, Dr. C. Suresh, Head, VUTRC, Mrs. K. Thivya Prabha, District Social Welfare Officer, and Non-Official Farmer Members Mr.Venu Kalidas, Mr. A.Ravichandran, Mr. M. Vedhaiyan, Mrs. Ilachiyammal, Mrs. P. Kala, Mrs. C. Vijayalakshmi and Entrepreneurs farmers participated and offered valuable suggestions. Subject Matter Specialists and Programme Assistants of Krishi Vigyan Kendra were participated and contributed to the success of the event.
